Slovakia placed 23rd in Baku

THE FIRST European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan ended on June 28 with the closing ceremony.

The overall winner of the games was Russia with 79 gold, 40 silver, and 45 bronze medals. Slovakia placed 23rd with two gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

The gold medals went to the athletic team and shooting duo Erik Varga and Zuzana Rehák-Štefečeková, while the silver medals were won by shooters Pavol Kopp and Erik Varga. Wrestler István Lévai, boxer Viliam Tankó, and shooter Juraj Tužinský won bronze medals.
