It placed 505th of top 750 universities listed in the 2016 Best Global Universities rankings, and was the only Slovak school in the list.
“We are pleased by the placement of our university,” said Rector of the Comenius University Karol Mičieta, as quoted in the press release.
The ranking confirmed the top quality of the school’s physics specialisation which ranked 152nd in its category, Mičieta added.
The ranking is based on 12 indicators that measure the universities’ academic research performance and their global and regional reputations. The 2016 edition is topped by three US schools: Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology a University of California – Berkeley.
