PEOPLE waiting at the Bratislava Lesopark (Forest Park) bus station on January 21 afternoon were surprised by the appearance of a wild boar weighing more than 200 kilograms.

The beast was shot dead by hunters. “A police canine unit, present at the time of the incident, attempted to shoo the wild boar back to the forest,” Bratislava city police spokesman Peter Pleva told the TASR newswire. “However, the wild boar failed to respond. Under normal circumstances, these animals flee from human presence, yet this one’s behaviour was strange. Therefore, police officers called in hunters for assistance.”
