LIVE MUSIC:  The Ecetera Band – A number of musicians from Bratislava present various kinds of music genres. Audiences will hear minimalistic music, alternative music, classical music and ambient which create specific melodies and rhythms which flow at their own pace. LIVE MUSIC: Coast 2 Coast – The greatest rap and hip-hop hits, primarily from the 1990s to 2000s, will be presented in downtown Bratislava; newer songs will not be missing, either. PARTY: Balkan Beats – The madness with a Balkan flavour. LIBRARY MARKET: Bratislava’s Book Swap Meeting - The 25th anniversary of this swap meet takes place in the downtown. For the most part, the market offers books, but in addition to that, there will also be records, postcards, magazines, CDs, and even comic books and posters will be available. BLUES: Sitra Achra – Concert from the cycle “Blues na lodi / Blues onboard the Boat” brings a live blues evening with musicians in the boat’s bar. LIVE MUSIC: Voci da camera – Tones of the passionate Spanish Romanticism, together with  deep, Russian romantics created the songs in the cycle of chamber concerts. The performance will introduce soloists of Slovak National Threate (SND) opera section, Denisa Šlepkovská and Pavol Remenár, accompanied by concert artists Xénia Javorová and Róbert Pechanec. JAZZ: Stanley Clarke band – Stanley Clarke Band will play famous jazz fusion. They will offer a fusion of rock, jazz and funk. The evening will feature the phenomenal bass guitar player, the 16-year-old Beka Gochiashvili (Georgia, piano), as well as Cameron Graves (American, keys), Michael Mitchell (Canadian, battery). FILM: Escaping Riga – Two young men Sergei Eisenstein and Isaiah Berlin are forced to leave their hometown Riga during the First World War. Later, they become great figures of the 20th century, one becomes a film producer in Soviet Russia and another becomes the best British philosopher of his generation, mixture of feature and documentary film. LIVE MUSIC: IAMX – Eccentric Chris Corner with his project IAMX return to Slovakia. He presents his new album Metanoia in MMC club. Since 2004, the singer has released six albums already. They contain a variety of genres from electro, dance, experimental burlesque to electro-pop. CLASSICAL MUSIC: Doshisha University Orchestra – Japanese symphonic orchestra plays in the Slovak Philharmonic concert hall. This orchestra from the Japanese city of Kyoto is made up of 120 students from the University of Danisha, one of the most prestigious Christian schools in Japan, as conducted by Hiroyuki Odano. LIVE MUSIC:  Spanish music – Flamenco and commemoration of Paco de Lucia. A night full of Latin music, primarily flamenco, Spanish temperament and passionate rhythms. Played by Morenito de Triana, aka Stano Kohútek (guitar), Michal Caba (cajon and percussions). They present their own compositions, as well as works of the best masters of flamenco guitar. PARTY: Swing party – Big dose of jazz and swing presented by the SwinGang orchestra, created in 2013, playing specific jazz Manouche and Gypsy swing. This kind of jazz was popular in the 1920s and 1930s thanks to guitar player Django Reinhardt, violinist Stephane Grappelli, musicians like Angelo Debarre, or the Rosenberg brothers, Schmitts. LANGUAGE/MEETING: Month of Francophony – March is annually a month of French language and culture when the French Institute organises a series of events and tries to popularise this language in Slovakia. A week of French films, Crème de la Crème, exhibitions, presentations and performances from this Francophony Month in 2016. A complex set of films divided into 4 sections (Crème de la Crème contemporary, Homecomings, 3xMarion and For Children) will be presented in cinemas across the city (Film Europe, Mladosť, Lumiere) within Crème de la Crème. EXHIBITION: Hľadanie identity / Searching for Identity – The art of painter with Slovak origin Arnold Peter Weisz-Kubínčan, representative of the period between the two world wars in art, can be seen in the Mirbach Palace. He created expressionist paintings of Slovak rural areas in Orava, Liptov and Turiec. He was born as a Jew, but diex as a Christian in a Nazi concentration camp. All his life, the author was searching for his own identity. The exhibition seeks to present his work to the public, based on numerous image- and documentary materials. EXHIBITION: Caricature and Jazz – The exhibition focused on the blending of jazz and cartoon was presented as a support event of Dodo Šošoka Festival in Piešťany (commemorating the jazzman of this name). In Ticho you can see a complex set of cartoons created during five years according to the concept of Bobo Pernecký. PHOTO EXHIBITION: World War I – The Central-European House of Photography (SEDF) presents the third part in a series of international exhibitions from WW1. The series of photos called Red Poppy Fields are reflections of these terrible times in Europe. EXHIBITION: Spiders and Scorpions – More than 40 living animal species with safe inaccessible glass terrariums can be seen, cameras are allowed. Among other species, people can see one of the most dangerous spiders, the black widow (Lathrodectus mactans), the biggest one (Theraphosa stirmi) and the large scorpion (Pandinus imperator). The exhibition corrects widespread myths and mistaken facts about these species. EXHIBITION: Silent and Glass/ Ticho a sklo – Exhibition hailing almost 25 years of the existence of this private gallery focused on glass presents several generations of glass artists - the best works of students of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava-VŠVU – and their works which are diverse, with a wide spectrum of technological and philosophical variations in design and creation. Open: Tue-Sun 13:00-18:00 until Mar 27; Galéria NOVA, Baštová 2. EXHIBITION/GALLERY: Dutch Painting – The Slovak National Gallery (SNG) offers more than 250 Dutch and Flemish works of art from 1500-1800. Most of them come from original collections from Slovakia. The paintings primarily focus on ethics, the short span of human life, family life and close connection to nature.
