LIVE MUSIC: 3x instruments – Bass - Miloš Bulík, grew up in Bratislava and got his first guitar at age 16. Matej Krivánek (bass guitar) is from a non-musical family. He prefers the motto “Sometimes less is better but more is always more”. Tamás Belicza is from Hungary. FESTIVAL: Bratislavský majáles / Bratislava’s May Festival 2016 – In the 9th year of this festival, Bratislava prepares visitors for concerts, a creative market, fireworks, trailers of unusual sports. Featuring bands and musicians The Paranoid + Bazztaarklan, Longital, Talkshow, Saténové ruky, Tóno S. & Beyuz, Swingless Jazz Ensemble, Billy Barman, Para, Paprika Korps, Xindl X, Peter Lipa, Polemic, Hex. FASHION SHOW: Lýdia Eckhardt 25. výročie/ Lýdia Eckhardt 25. anniversary - Fashion house LE celebrates 25 years. It organizes fashion shows twice a year full of style, beauty and good atmosphere. A gala evening will show new spring and summer models, but it will be also a retrospective of entire collection. RUNNING: Mile for Mother – The day dedicated to mothers. This ceremony started at the break of 19th-20th centuries. The Union of Mothers’Centres celebrates this occasion since 2004. The main target is to entertain the whole family. In 2004 they came with the idea of breaking the Guinness record in number of people pushing baby strollers for a 1-mile distance. The main purpose was to show the strength of motherhood which moves the world and the baby stroller is the symbol of this. Starts: May 7, 15:00-18:00, Kúpalisko Kuchajda / Kuchajda Lido, Vajnorská. BALLET: Sleeping Beauty - The famous ballet fairytale for children and adults made by two artistic genii: Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and French choreographer Marius Petipa. Fairytale about the Sleeping Beauty awakened by the kiss of a handsome prince is one of the pillars of the classical ballet literature for more than one hundred years. The ballet is choreographed and directed by Vladimir Malakhov, led by Dušan Štefánek. Performers are: Romina Kołodziej, Artemyj Pyzhov, František Šulek, Kvetoslava Salingerová and others. FOOD: Vegan Festival – The traditional meeting of lovers of vegan food takes place. The 2nd year of Vegfest brings tasting of meals, films, lectures and concerts. OUTDOOR: Birdwatching – The traditional one-hour walking for learning about environment. CK Watching welcomes everybody interested in birds for a one-hour short trip for bird calls in the heart of Bratislava’s city forest. CLASSICAL MUSCIC: Bach, Leclair, Berger - The concert is performed by Slovak Chamber Orchestra, Ewald Danel (artistic leader / violin) and Kaspar Zehnder (flute). FOLK MUSIC: S hudbou, spevom a tancom po Slovensku/  With music, sing and dance around Slovakia - Folklore Ensemble Dolina is a team of young people who are connected with folk art. Its members - students of Bratislava elementary and high schools from 4 to 18 years-old play, sing, dance; and through their choreographies folk traditions in Slovakia are revived. CONCERT: Fragile - The group performs vocal interpretations of famous world rock-pop-jazz hits in interesting A Capella arrangements. Members of the group are famous Slovak singers or also actors: B. TRADE SHOW: Medzinárodný veľtrh obrannej techniky/ International trade show of defence technology - A performance of defence potential of the Slovak Republic with emphasis on its long-term development including the armed forces and ensuring stability of defence spending. The most advanced military technology, equipment to ensure protection and safety – and more are part of the international trade show with topic titled “Modernisation of the military, police and intelligence agencies”. It reacts to the actual international situation of Schengen and Slovakia's presidency in the EU Council from the beginning of July 2016. OPERA: Rigoletto - Opera in three acts in the Italian language by Giuseppe Verdi. Victor Hugo’s drama Le Roi s’Amuse was an ideal story for Verdi, full of great passions, critical view on the society and touching personal line. The opera is directed by Martin Schüler, conducted and music rehearsed by Friedrich Haider, and choirmaster is Pavel Procházka. BALLET: Swan Lake - Ballet in three acts and four scenes. An oeuvre from P.I. Tchaikovsky is certainly the most famous title of the ballet repertoire. The romantic story of prince Siegfried and beautiful princess Odetta utterly changed into a swan is the basis of the Classical Russian Ballet School. This time, the ballet is choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev I. Ivanov, with ballet masters Mária Kupcová, Igor Holováč and Nora Gallovičová. WORLD MUSIC: Vidiek + Pacora trio - The concert of two bands Vidiek and Pacora Trio will bring famous hits, various styles, jazz and folklore with elements of classical music. Well-known band Vidiek from Bratislava connects urban professional music with village musical naivety in a diverse mix of musical styles and influences. The second guest of the evening is Pacora Trio - Slovak - Moldavian world music trio whose music is based on fading folk, jazz with shading of classical music. FESTIVAL: Whoneedslyrics?! festival 2016 - The music of this two-day festival consists of indie, electronica, post-rock, experimental, instrumental, ambient, post-metal and others. EXHIBITION: Lucia Dovičáková – Všetky dôvody k šťastiu sú nablízku/ All Reasons for Happiness are Close. The name of the exhibition is a paraphrase of sentences from Virginia Woolf, asking Why Not Be Original? Who Not Be Oneself? Dovičáková does not answer these elementary questions; rather, she presents the issue and shows that finding and preserving happiness in the exhausted era of capitalism and self-optimisation is an extremely hard mission. EXHIBITION: Táňa Hojčová - Fotografie, tanagramy a tanagrafie / Photos, “tTanagrams” and “Tanagraphs” – Slovak photographer Táňa Hojčová is famous for high precision and theoretical preparedness. Her creation consists of large-scale photographs of frequent and less frequent atmospheric phenomenon and attractions of the Universe. The exhibition is the selection of several interrelated photo collections and works called “Tanagrams and Tanagraphs”.
