The Night of Museums and Galleries 2016 drew thousands of visitors

The 12th year of the popular Night of Museums and Galleries opened the doors of institutions around Slovakia until midnight and drew many visitors.

The Europe-wide event under the umbrella of the Council of Europe marks the International Day of Museums on May 18 and takes place in a coordinated way on the third Saturday of May.

Countrywide, this year was coordinated by the Association of Museums in Slovakia, and in Bratislava by the Slovak National Museum. Photographs show highlights of the daylong event.

On Wednesday, Slovak literature will be presented in one of the biggest bookstores in London. Among the new books translated into English is also the anthology of current Slovak prose selected and translated by Magdalena Mullek and Júlia Sherwood.
