A big police action took place in Bratislava starting in the early morning hours of June 14. It was organised by the National Criminal Agency (NAKA), which detained and pressed charges against dozens of people, the Aktuality.sk website reported.
“I can confirm it is a NAKA action focused on Piťovci group,” Police Corps President Tibor Gašpar told the website.
It has been probably the biggest raid ever, even bigger than the one during which a head of the organised crime group Juraj Ondrejčák, nicknamed Piťo, was detained in November 2011. The police even used a helicopter at the time.
During the June 14 raid also Martin R., son of a well-known Bratislava-based entrepreneur, was allegedly detained, Aktuality.sk wrote.
It is the third big raid carried out by the special police force in recent months. Only a month ago the police intervened within the Mlynček action in Dunajská Streda (Trnava Region). They detained several people and accused eight men of murders.
Moreover, in early May NAKA organised a raid in western Slovakia, focusing on the Takáčovci group. In cooperation with the Interior Ministry inspectorate they detained 15 people, including one former and one current police officer, Aktuality.sk reported.
