Červený Kameň

NIGHT TOURS: Meno ruže/ Name of the Rose - Detective story with a touch of mystery inspired by Italian writer Umberto Eco comes alive in the cellars of the Červený Kameň Castle. A series of night tours bring visitors into the mysterious medieval times, where evil has many faces. The team Hector performs at the event. FESTIVAL: Hudba v Modre 2016/ Music in Modra 2016 - Jazz art and chamber music are elements of the eleventh year of this summer festival Music in Modra. Programme comprising four concerts includes one of the most significant jazz bands in Slovakia - Nothing But Swing Trio; a concert of pupils and teachers of the Primary Art School, chamber ensemble Moyzes Quartet with Slovak sopranist Eva Šušková, and Berger Trio with Polish saxophonist Ryszard Żolędziewski. OUTDOOR: Triathlon Race - Top triathletes come to Slovakia for the prestigious series of Challenge Family, which will be held here for the first time. FESTIVAL: Dni Originality/ Originality Days + Celia Fest - The first year of this festival, which brings an interesting experimental programme through performances of artists, designers and craftsmen. It will also be possible to buy original artwork, craft products and jewellery from the artists, who will also create their works directly at the festival. The festival is gluten-free friendly. OUTDOOR: Stupava v pohybe/ Stupava in Motion - Sport enthusiasts can await the first year of a non-traditional city run, where an included discipline is “Paired Running”. FESTIVAL: Lodenica 2016 - The eighteen year of the festival of country, folk and tramp music is held traditionally during the last August weekend. The program includes performers such as Čechomor, Emir Kusturica & The No Smoking Orchestra, Otava Yo, Middle Of The Road, Jan Nedvěd, The Buttons, Družina and many others. FESTIVAL: More than Fest - International rock-metal music festival this year brings many domestic and also foreign groups. FESTIVAL: Muzikálový festival Jozefa Bednárika/ Musical Festival of Jozef Bednárik - The ninth year of the musical festival is this time guided by musician Felix Slováček. Headliner of the festival is a well-known member of the Slovak band Elán, Vašo Patejdl, who is focused also on musical and theatre creations. Accompanying programme includes an exhibition of the personal things of Jozef Bednárik, who was a Slovak actor and theatre director. Starts: Aug 20, 16:00. Kúpeľná ½. Admission: from 10. FESTIVAL: Operalia - The first year of the only open-air opera festival in Slovakia is comprised of three events. Visitors to this international festival can await Beethoven´s Symphony No. 9 in D minor (Ode to Joy), chamber concert Operalia Talent or Donizetti's opera Maria Stuarda. OUTDOOR: Lovu zdar/ Hail to the Hunt - The historical and natural science event presents various methods and techniques of hunting, historical development and traditions associated with this popular pastime of the nobility. The programme includes for example archery and shooting from historical weapons, shows of birds of prey and others. Starts: Aug 21, 10:00; Orava Castle. OUTDOOR: Medzinárodné letecké dni/ Slovak International Air Fest (SIAF) 2016- The biggest air event of the year is held on the occasion of the anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising and Slovak Presidency of the Council of the EU. CONCERT: Michel Sajrawy (IL) - The artist comes from the city, which is a symbol of a fragile, but prolonged coexistence of three great religions and cultures - Nazareth.
