BALLET: Premiere of Giselle – The ballet by French composer Adolphe Charles Adam named Giselle belongs to the period of high romanticism and it is also one of the most played ballet performances in the world. CLASSICAL MUSIC: The London Philharmonic Orchestra - The concert is led by Juraj Valčuha. The violin soloist for the event is young american musicisan, Stefan Jackiw. CLASSICAL MUSIC: Piotr Rubik - Concert by the famous Polish composer and conductor Piotr Rubik of his work Tu es Petrus with lyrics by writer Zbigniew Ksiažek, which was composed as a tribute to Pope John Paul II, who also came from Poland. CONCERT: Lisa Simone - who served with the American airforce and is the daughter of famous singer Nina Simone, performs her concert based on the City Sounds of Bratislava. BALLET: Georgian national ballet – The almost 70-year old ballet ensemble, Sukhisvili will come to Bratislava as part of their European tour. GASTRONOMY: Gourmet Fridays - Special tasty dinners in autumn colours are still available during November at the Riverbank restaurant on the Danube embankment. Visitors can taste the traditional duck or goose, that is typical for this season but there are also other specialities from the chef's hands. THEATRE FESTIVAL: Festival Error 2016 – The international festival for homeless actors, Error is the only festival dedicated to theatre performances by homelesses or otherwise socially excluded or disadvantaged people. FESTIVAL: Central European Festival of Italian Film – Movie lovers can look forward to nine evening films, which present a diversity of Italian cinematography, which will be projected within the festival of Italian films named Mittel Cinema Fest. FESTIVAL: One Day Jazz Festival – The Autumn staging of the international jazz festival will be held in three Slovak cities, and it brings world-known names such as Grammy Award winner, guitarist Lee Ritenour and one of the most significant drummers of his generation, Greg Hutchinson. SCREENING: Premiere of the film A Living Space – Visitors can see the screeinng of a film by multitalented theatre director and artist Robert Wilson, which is named A Living Space. FESTIVAL: Uprising, Winter Edition - The seventh year of the reaggae festival Uprising brings various performers of this genre. The main star of the event will be French group and significant European reaggae representatives, Dub inc. EXHIBITION: Lucia Nimcová & Sholto Dobie - Khroniky - Slovak artist Lucia Nimcová together with Scottish artist Sholto Dobie have returned every year since 2014 to western Ukraine, to the Karpaty area, where a Ruthenian minority lives. Their audiovisual project named Khroniky chronicles the everyday life of inhabitants through songs, stories, music, performances and others. TRAINING: Zumba in English Every Tuesday – Not a dance lesson, but rather a party which the organisers call the Zumba dance. Organised by Internationals Bratislava, a non-profit organisation that brings people together from all around the world living or visiting Bratislava, regardless of their cultural origin. BALLET: Romeo and Julliet - A romantic story composed by Sergey Prokofiev, inspired by the famous theatre play by Williama Shakespeare will be performed by the world renowned Royal Russian Ballet. The topic of forbidden love has been performed many times as a drama or the ballet, but a musical concept by Prokofiev belongs to the highlights of the ballet creation. COMEDY SHOW: Michael Winslow – the Popular US comedian (Police Academy, Space Balls, Gremlins) will perform in Bratislava, bringing his show full of sound imitations, music, storytelling, and even a special version of the final battle scene from Star Wars. BALLET: Swan Lake - the ballet choreographed by the world-famous St. Petersburg Festival Ballet will visit three European cities including Bratislava, where they will come for the first time.
