CINEMA: André Rieu: Christmas with André – The Christmas concert from the famous musician and his Johann Strauss Orchestra with special guests, including a city tour around festive Maastricht and an interview with Charlotte Hawkins, will be broadcast in cinemas around Slovakia. CLASSICAL MUSIC: Gallery of Music / Galéria hudby – This cycle brings both chamber music from all periods and contemporary music to the local gallery. This time round, the Czech ensemble Societas Incognitorum will sing music by C. Monteverdi, G. P. da Palestrina, O. di Lasso, J. Knőfel, K. Harant, G. B. Alovisi, J. H. Gallus, A. Rigatti, H. L. Hassler, T. Weelkes, T. Vautor, and T. Morley. Societas Incognitorum is a vocal quintet from Brno, focused mostly on the music of the 16th and 17th century, including lesser known composers. OPERA: Eugen Onegin – The iconic Russian opera by P.I. Tchaikovsky has been rehearsed and conducted – in its fifth staging within the State Opera – by Igor Bulla, directed by Anna Osipenko, with stage design by Sergei Novikov, choreography by Michail Thaikasov.
