PARTY: Rock'n'Roll Night – Evening in the sign of rock'n'roll music will be accompanied by Bratislava trio named The Cellmates inspired by American music of the 50s of the 20th century and group of vinyl enthusiasts from the same city - The Ugly Selectors. CLASSICAL MUSIC: Organ Concerts under the Pyramid – This is the 20th year of the organ concert cycle, which is held from January until June 2017. The first concert is performed by French musician, Olivier Latry, who will offer a program consisting mostly of songs by French composers such as Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, Louis Vierne and Charles-Marie Vidor. CONCERT: José González & The String Theory – Argentinian-Swedish singer and songwriter, who also play on guitar and devotes to the genre indie folk, will present his creation accompanied by orchestra named The String Theory during their second European tour. FILM MESTIVAL: Scandinavian movies – The third part of the Festival of Nordic movies brings with itself a current filmmaking from the Nordic cinematography named Scandi, that is organized by the Nordic cinematography. This time spectators will have a possibility to choose from the latest films from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Starts: Jan 25 – 29; Various cinemas. Admission: Depends on the movie. OUTDOOR: Hiking in Little Fatra – Whole weekend trip to mountain range situated in the Western Carpathians in the north-west of Central Slovakia named Malá Fatra/ Little Fatra is suitable for everyone, who admire nature, hiking, mountains and also night in the cabin in the mountains and currently also winter during this season. STAND-UP COMEDY: Tom Allen - Several times award winning English comedian, actor, and writer Tom Allen, who has already performed at Just For Laughs in Montreal, London’s Soho Theatre and New York’s UCB Theatre, comes to Bratislava with his comedy show Joke's On You. SCREENING: Youth – The original version of the film from 2015 directed by Paolo Sorrentino is about Fred – a retired composer and conductor and Mick – a still working film director, two old friends, who are on vacation in an elegant hotel at the foot of the Alps. RECITATION: Poetry Slam – This is another event of the English Poetry Slam in Bratislava, which is organised by a student of the LEAF Academy and the creator of Fountain Poetry, Florian Niederseer. EXHIBITION: Three exhibitions – Lovers of travelling, hunting or other activities can join three exhibitions held at the same time: 23th year of the International fair of travel named ITF Slovakiatour, 24th international specialized exhibition dedicated to Hunting and Leisure and 9th Wellness and Fitness exhibition. EXHIBITION: On the Border – The first exhibition of this year at the gallery of the Polish Institute presents Roma artist and painter Małgorzata Mirga-Tas. The main topic of her exhibition called Na pomedzí/ On the Border, is the life of the Roma people, who are depicted in her colourful oeuvres in an abstract and decorative way. GUIDED TOUR: Sunday Rest - The exhibition Dream × Reality | Art & Propaganda 1939 – 1945, maps various visual aspects of the Slovak State, which is one of the most controversial chapters of modern Slovak history. Lecturer Miroslava Urbanová will present the paradoxes of artistic operations at the time, the issue of propaganda, and other topics of the exhibition through various types of art media. Organised by Internationals Bratislava, a non-profit organisation that brings people together from all around the world living or visiting Bratislava, regardless of their cultural origin. SHOW: Ceasar Millan - Kynolog and dog trainer Ceasar Millan will visit Bratislava within his European tour called the Ceasar Millan Live Tour 2017. SHOW: Cirque du Soleil – The well-known international artistic group, Cirque du Soleil, comes again to Slovakia and for the first time they present their seven performances of the story named Varekai. The holder of the Golden Globe in the category of song for The Prayer in the animated film The Magic Sword, who last year released his most recent album named Cinema, comes to Bratislava.
