The spa in Nový Smokovec created the traditional Veľkonočné mestečko (Easter Village) for visitors to the Vysoké Tatry mountains.

The programme consisted of folk performances, crafts, making painted Easter eggs, a bryndzové halušky (sheep cheese dumplings) eating contest and a beer drinking competition. For children, there was a mini-zoo with horses, lambs and calves and face painting with spring themes.

Alongside the programme, organizers broke the record of hung painted Easter eggs on an Easter tree. Visitors brought and hung 982 Easter eggs this year; last year 918 eggs were hung.
