Slovakia loses against Latvia

The Slovak national hockey team lost all three points in their second match at the IIHF World Championships 2017.

The Slovak national hockey team lost the game in the IIHF World Championships 2017 against Latvia 1:3.

The only Slovak goal was scored by Michel Miklík. Janis Sprukts, Zemgus Girgensons and Andris Džerinš scored for Latvia.

Slovakia now has 2 points in the preliminary round.

The Slovaks are playing in group A of the preliminary round, with the matches being held in Cologne, Germany. They face teams from Italy, Latvia, Denmark, Germany, Russia, the USA and Sweden.

Based on current IIHF World Rankings Slovakia is currently in 7th position while Latvia ranks 13th.
