Authorities in the US state of New Jersey believe that a body found on Ortley Beach along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean is a 24-year-old Slovak identified by the Slovak media as Zuzana O.

Zuzana and a friend went swimming around 2:00 in the ocean off the beach in Point Pleasant. Police say that only the friend, Thomas Kadlec, 23, made it out of the rough water, according to the website nj.com.

Rescuers had looked for Zuzana throughout the day on Sunday, using boats, helicopters and ground crews before suspending the search.

The incident remains under investigation.
