Visitors to Harmanecká cave, located in the Harmanec valley near Banská Bystrica, can climb as many as 1,042 stairs during the 1 kilometre-long tour.

The temperature of air in the cave varies from 5.8 to 6.4 Celsius degrees.

“The cave is located at a height of 821 metres above sea level,” stated administrator of the cave Ľuboš Hraško, as quoted by the TASR newswire.

Tourists have to conquer 260 metres of vertical distance when walking from the carpark, which usually takes between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on fitness levels.
