A total of 359 foreign students will study at Bratislava-based Comenius University (UK) this academic year, 347 within the Erasmus+ programme and 12 based on bilateral agreements,
Foreign students were ceremonially welcomed in the UK hall on Monday morning, September 18.
“When foreign students come here, they enrich our student community because students practice speaking in different languages,” said Daniela Ostatníková, a pro-rector for international relations as cited by the TASR newswire. “They learn how foreign countries function, which increases their motivation to go abroad.
Foreign students’ interest in studying at Comenius University is growing, with the Management Faculty being the most in demand, followed by the Medical and Law Faculties.
Within the Erasmus+ programme, 158 men and 189 women will study at UK this academic year. The highest number of foreign students come from Spain (104), Portugal (44), Italy (42) and France (34).
