More than 200 foreigners sit in Slovak prisons

Majority are Czechs.

There are currently 225 foreigners in Slovak prisons, according to Corps of Prison and Court Guard. Of that number, 83 are accused and 142 are lawfully convicted. Men prevail – only 13 of 225 are women.

The largest group of foreigners in Slovak prisons are Czechs, who make up 51 of the 225. In the second position “scored” 21 Romanians, followed by 19 Hungarians.

Overall, 1,452 accused are imprisoned,of which 77 are women. Prison sentences hold 8,760 convicted, including 637 women.
