TEMPORARY EXHIBITION IN SLOVAK NATIONAL GALLERY:
Bazovský, The Photographer - The fine art of Miloš Alexander Bazovský (1899 – 1968) as one of the founders of modern Slovak painting has been introduced in many exhibitions and publications. As a photographic visual artist, he was the first to succeed as a modern artist and modern photographer at the same time. Bazovský was interested in not only traditional rural topics – in this area, he was somehow rougher and more of a documentary counterpart to Karol Plicka, he also focused on a variety of manifestations of modern life-styles: sport, tourism, travelling. He often portrayed his friends, perhaps mostly the artist with a tragic destiny — Arnold Peter Weisz-Kubínčan. Open: Tue – Wed 10:00 – 18:00, Thur 12:00 – 20:00, Fri – Sun 10:00 – 18:00 from Nov 17 until April 15, 2018, Námestie Ľ. Štúra 4. More info: sng.sk.
TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS IN BRATISLAVA CITY GALLERY (PÁLFFY PALACE):
Adam Friedrich Oeser - In February 2017, three hundred years passed since the birth of Adam Friedrich Oeser, a painter, engraver, sculptor and art teacher. On this occasion, the Bratislava City Gallery mounted an exhibition mapping the life and work of the native of Pressburg who became a reputable figure of cultural and artistic life in Dresden, Weimar and Leipzig. His life and work are interesting for scholars in the area of not only art history but also literature, pedagogy and book culture. He has been perceived primarily as a spiritual driving force of early classicism, a friend and a teacher of the giants such as Johann Joachim Winckelmann and Johann Wolfgang Goethe. Open: Tue – Sun 11:00 – 18:00 until Dec 17. Palffyho Palác, Panská 19. More info: gmb.sk
TEMPORARY EXHIBITION IN DANUBIANA GALLERY:

Meeting Picasso in 1951 was a crucial event which influenced his photography. He won the artist’s trust and their close cooperation continued until 1972. Picasso allowed him to take photos of various activities: Picasso while painting, Picasso the sculptor, Picasso in the pottery workshop in Madoura. Quinn’s camera was even privy to the artist’s private life. Open: Tue – Sun 10:00 – 18:00 from Nov 3 until Jan 18. Vodne Dielo, Čunovo. More info: danubiana.sk.
Francesca Martí: Transformation - “Transformation” is the title of the retrospective exhibition of the Spanish multimedia artist Francesca Martí. This exhibition will offer a wide approach to one of the most innovative European art productions, both in the sphere of traditional languages as well as in the domain of new technologies. The artist’s work goes beyond the limits of painting and sculpture to explore the languages of photography and video art as dynamic mediums. Her deep and engaged reflection about human emotions, ideals, cultural backgrounds or common universal challenges takes form in thematic series of artworks such as The Fly, Movements & Soul, Tears, Screen, Crystal, The Wall, Scream, Planet of Fusions, Cities in the Crooked Line & Migrants. Open: Tue – Sun 10:00 – 18:00 until March 11, 2018. Vodne Dielo, Čunovo. More info: www.danubiana.sk

TEMPORARY EXHIBITION IN KUNSTHALLE
Štefan Papčo: Psycho-vertical - Psycho-vertical is a climbing route in the High Tatra Mountains, situated close to the border between Slovakia and Poland. With a topography of large free vertical loose boulder blocks, it is one of the hardest routes to ascend. The Tatra mountains also function as Papčo's exhibition space. Indeed, he climbs and places sculptures on the mountains’ platforms, exposing them to today’s ever-changing climate. The carved wooden figures live through and record the extreme weather conditions. Papčo’s attitude is programmatically opposite to any “extraction”, it engages directly with the matter of the mountains and reflects on what it means to read the Earth as bodily matter. This exhibition pays tribute to the legendary Ganek Gallery – a fictional institution created by Július Koller in 1982 on an inaccessible plateau in the Tatras. Open: Wed 13:00 – 20:00, Thur – Mon 12:00 – 19:00 until Feb 25, 2018, Námestie SNP 12. More info: www.kunsthallebratislava.sk
Szilárd Cseke: Fall by the Roadside – The site specific installation is a big kinetic model, a work of art which presses contemporary questions. Cseke put up the installation as a critical model for discussion and intervention. The goal was to create a complex system, a space filled with eventful life. Open: Wed 13:00 – 20:00, Thur – Mon 12:00 – 19:00 until Feb 4, 2018, Námestie SNP 12. More info: www.kunsthallebratislava.sk
