Slovakia second best European country to raise a family

Slovakia ranks second among European countries as the best to raise a family in, according to the We Are Family Index conducted by Wren Kitchens.

The index reveals the best and worst places to raise a family in Europe. Greece tops the table, closely followed by Slovakia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, Spain, Hungary, Finland, Germany and Austria.

Wren Kitchens conducted research on 25 European countries to discover the best and worst places to raise a family. The We Are Family Index takes into account maternity/paternity leave, cost of living, property prices and cost of childcare. Each of these factors were then analysed and combined to result in an overall ranking.

Figures show that Greece, Slovakia and Czech Republic top the chart with affordable property prices, cost of living and childcare fees.

Switzerland come in last place overall, with research showing it came out at the bottom of the pile in terms of paternity leave, childcare fees and cost of living.
