The Law Faculty of the Comenius University (UK) in Bratislava will enable students to study law in English, the university informed.
The New Master’s degree course is focused on European Union and international law and is meant both for Slovak and foreign students, Lenka Miller of the university PR department informed. The study programme in English offers a wide variety of courses focused either on international trade law, or on the law of international organisations.
What is the course about?
Students will gain practical skills through clinical education, and they can engage in simulated international legal disputes (moot courts) or internships, too.
"The study programme is intended for students who have received a Bachelor degree in law either here or abroad or in a field of study equivalent to law,” Dean of the Law Faculty of UK in Bratislava, Eduard Burda, said.
A graduate will receive a Master’s degree in law which will entitle them to membership in due professional organisations and to perform the classical legal occupations.
The programme is an accredited two-year study course – a continuation of the results of the successful project Law of European Integration and Globalization supported by the European Social Fund, lectured in English. It has resulted in several subjects focusing on the EU and international law being taught in English, which has enabled the preparation of a new Master’s study programme in English. It was first offered last year.
Applications for the academic year 2018/2019 can still be filed until August 31 and more information can be found at www.flaw.uniba.sk.
