Are you wandering in central Slovakia with some extra time? Visit Vartovka Tower in Krupina, a guard tower with a square ground plan about 13 metres high. It was built around 1564.
Its main role, along with other nearby guard towers, was to report incoming danger, for example the Turks or rebel and imperial armies.
Today, Vartovka serves as a viewpoint to the distant surroundings of Štiavnické Vrchy Mountains and Krupinská Planina. It is accessible from Krupina when following a blue mark. The route takes about an hour. However, it is accessible by car.
