Most foreigners working in Slovakia are Serbs

The number of foreign workers continued to rise in December 2018.

There were more than 69,000 foreigners working in Slovakia in December 2018.

It is an increase of 2,500 compared to last November. Moreover, the number of foreign workers has gone up by 19,600 compared to the end of 2017, the SITA newswire reported.

Most of these workers come from Serbia. There are 13,600 Serbians, which is 1,300 more year-on-year, the data from the Central Office for Labour, Social Affairs, and Family of the Slovak Republic shows.

11,800 Ukrainians worked in Slovakia last year, which is 7,200 workers more than in 2017.

The Romanians are the third most numerous group of foreign workers. There were 11,100 of them working in Slovakia.

One-third of all foreigners working in Slovakia worked in Bratislava at the end of 2018, SITA wrote.
