Three Slovaks listed among the world's billionaires

Three Slovaks have made it onto the 2019 list of the richest people in the world, published by American magazine Forbes.

Czech PM Andrej Babiš is the richest Slovak, placing 617th with his fortune of $3.5 billion. Forbes considers him Czech in the rankings.

Ivan Chrenko, an owner of development company HB Reavis who made the list last year, placed 1,425th. His fortune is estimated at $1.6 billion, the Sme daily reported.

The third Slovak, who was listed for the first time this year, is Jaroslav Haščák, one of the owners of Penta Investments. He placed 2,057th, with his property amounting to $1 billion.

Penta owns health insurance company Dôvera, the network of pharmacies Dr. Max and a network of Svet Zdravia hospitals. In addition, the financial group is active in real estate, industry, services and the media. For example, it owns a publishing house News & Media Holding, which issues the Plus 1 Deň tabloid daily, as well as weeklies Plus 7 Dní and Trend.

Amazon owner Jeff Bezos remains the richest man in the world, whose fortune is roughly $131 billion. Overall, there are 2153 billionaires around the world, which is a drop of 55 people, according to Forbes.
