Foreigners’ Police will open a new immigration office

New department to ease the situation at one of its busiest offices.

For years foreigners living in the Liptov and Orava Regions, both in northern Slovakia, have had to travel to Žilina to get their residence permits.

Hours spent at the Foreigners’ Police Office in Žilina should soon be history. The police confirmed that they are planning to open a branch in Ružomberok in the Liptov Region. It should open by the end of this year.

“The Žilina department is one of the offices most overburdened with work in Slovakia,” Slovakia's Police Corps spokesperson Denisa Baloghová claimed, as quoted by SITA.
