The best maternity wards in Slovakia

Some of them could soon gain the badge of a Baby-friendly Hospital.

In which Slovak maternity ward will mothers get the best care? The Health Policy Institute (HPI) in cooperation with the website rodinka.sk conducted research where they asked both mothers and experts.

The best care is to be had in the Bratislava Koch hospital and hospitals in Liptovský Mikuláš, Humenné and Martin.

More than 51 Slovak hospitals participated in the eighth year of the project, Guide through the Hospitals.

Fewer C-sections

“We see a trend of decreasing numbers of C-sections,” said an expert guarantor Silvia Hnilicová, as quoted by the TASR newswire.

They noted in the research that mothers-to-be tend to move to better-rated hospitals. Long hospitalisation and non-effective data collection remain a problem.
