Horehronie region is known as a bike and e-bike friendly region. There are 800 kilometres of marked cycling routes in this region and it is a popular area when it comes to mountain cycling.

More features to come

“The purpose of the cycling route is like from a copybook. The aim is to lower emissions because it serves as a road for work commuting, but with new tarmac surface. It is good also as a training route for young biathletes and cyclists,” stated the Horehronie Regional Organisation of Tourism, as quoted by the TASR newswire.

Relaxing away from roads with cars is also important, that is another reason why it is suitable for families.

New features will be added – such as relaxing spots and shelters in case of rainy weather, perhaps campsites.
