New cycling route open in Hrončianska Valley

Hrončianska Valley has opened to a larger number of cycling tourists. A new cycling route is available, leading from the village of Čierny Balog through the valley of Čierny Hron to Hronec. A four-kilometre long section connects Valaská, Podbrezová and Brezno.

Horehronie region is known as a bike and e-bike friendly region. There are 800 kilometres of marked cycling routes in this region and it is a popular area when it comes to mountain cycling.

Hrončianska Valley, connecting Čierny Balog and Hronec, belongs among the most popular parts.

“The purpose of the cycling route is like from a copybook. The aim is to lower emissions because it serves as a road for work commuting, but with new tarmac surface. It is good also as a training route for young biathletes and cyclists,” stated the Horehronie Regional Organisation of Tourism, as quoted by the TASR newswire.
