The Old Town borough of Bratislava has the greatest demand for parking in the city. In an attempt to ease parking for residents, members of the local council passed an addendum to the borough's contract with BPS Park, the company that administers parking in the borough, that will reduce the price of parking permits and provide free parking lots for residents and extend the paid parking hours for non-residents. These new conditions will come into force as of December 1, 2019.
“This set of measures is an important element to improve conditions for the parking of residents and visitors to the city centre,” said Peter Poloma, director of BPS Park, as cited by the SITA newswire. “Another planned improvement will be enabling drivers to pay for parking with contactless bank cards beginning this autumn.”
