The unfinished Nivy Tower, a 125-metre-tall high-rise building in Bratislava, is Slovakia’s highest construction. However, this will change in the coming years as the construction of Slovakia’s first skyscraper, Eurovea Tower, has been greenlighted,as reported by the Sme daily.
Despite previous controversies and an exchange of opinions between developers and the capital’s boroughs, Bratislava’s neighbourhood of Ružinov has issued the last building permit for the Eurovea 2 project, which the first Slovak skyscraper will be a part of.
The most important zoning decision came into force before this summer. Comments and appeals made by different entities did not prevent it. That is why the J&T Real Estate developer was able to ask for the final building permit.

The 168-metre high building will have 47 storeys. A part of the construction project also involves the extension of the Eurovea shopping mall, located next to the Danube River, by 25,000 square metres.
The project is being financed by J&T Real Estate, but it will be divided among three companies once the construction is completed, as reported by Sme.
The shopping segment will be in the hands of Peter Korbačka’s holding, the apartments will still be owned by the J&T Real Estate Holding and later sold to people. The Poštová banka Fund will take over the office part.
