The rare wonders of the protected area near Hrhov ponds in Rožňava county are being celebrated thanks to a new project called Amazing Bird World Without Borders.
Its aim is to build infrastructure and ensure better conditions for ornithologists, especially since the Slovak side has an ornithologist place in Drienovec where they observe birds. Onithologists from all of Slovakia visit this place.

Visitors can also look forward to a new education path meant not only for experts but also for the public.
“These are wetlands, so it was necessary to build such a path in order to avoid stepping on mud,” said the director of the National Park Slovenský Kras Ján Kilík, as quoted by the TASR newswire.
There are also two new observation towers. The lower one is located at the eastern edge of the pond, the taller on the western. Visitors have free access there and can observe the birds, Kilík added.
