The specialised team of the National Criminal Agency (NAKA) raided the Mochovce nuclear power plant in the Nitra Region for the second time in less than six months on Wednesday.
"The raid was related to the provision of services,” the police said on Facebook. “The volume of invoiced work compared to reality had been increased by about 1,000 percent.”
All the increased invoices were paid to the supplier.
The police detained two people during the raid, which had been code-named the Manager.
One of the arrested men is a joint-stock company manager, the second is a manager of one of the suppliers, who provides work and services for the completion of Units 3 and 4 of the power plant in Mochovce.
SE confirms the search
Miroslav Šarišský, external relations manager of Slovenské elektrárne (SE), the biggest electricity provider in Slovakia, confirmed the police raid at Mochovce, as reported by the TASR newswire.
The team, called Elektro, searched a business company in the Levice District, southern Slovakia, and the plant itself.

The specialised NAKA unit wanted to obtain information about an employee in the middle management position, Šarišský also said.
"Slovenské elektrárne is fully cooperation with police authorities," Šarišský said, as quoted by TASR.
Overpriced units
Today, the police are simultaneously investigating several supply channels through which money has been leaking from Mochovce, the Denník N daily reported.
The budget for the two units has increased from €2.8 to €5.7 billion. For this reason, Slovenské elektrárne is extremely indebted and cannot invest in other areas or pay dividends to the state and other shareholders.
