Walk out of a hotel or chalet in skiing boots, take a few steps to a heated cable car and carve the “ironed” corduroy shortly afterwards. Most skiers have dreamed about such comfort their wholelives. At Jasná, dreams become reality and accomodation in new chalets ensures this experience is available to everyone. The chalets in Jasná offer everything visitors need in the mountains, with hotel-like services. There is a fully-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, a living room with a fireplace, a ski room with a boot dryer and even private wellness. Every day the room service cleans up, prepares wood for the fireplace, changes the water in the whirlpool, serves breakfast or can even arrange catering if desired.

Jasná offers adventurous skiing on the north and south side of Chopok peak, well-groomed slopes and artificial snow on most trails, which is a significant advantage as winters in Slovakia are becoming milder with less natural snow. The largest ski arena with excellent conditions for winter sports offers many activities, modern cable cars and a rich programme off the slopes as well.

On Chopok, you can also find the panoramic mountain á la carte restaurant Rotunda with a sun terrace, where you can relax while skiing or enjoy the TATRA DINNER OF EXPERIENCES combined with culinary delights and a night ride on a snow-tracked vehicle. Those who want to stay on Chopok overnight can do so in Hotel Rotunda.

The club Happy End opens its gates for those who are ready to have some fun while lovers of freeriding are sure to enjoy the resort’s twelve freeriding zones, all of which are accessible by cable car. Early birds can enjoy Fresh Track morning rides, during which they can ski on the freshly groomed slopes before the cable cars start up, and enjoy breakfast on Chopok peak afterwards.

Certainly the most comfortable accommodation is directly in the resort, but where should you stay if you are travelling on a tight budget or with a larger group of people?

Alternative accomodation can easily be found elsewherein Liptov since the region is well-connected thanks to the SKI & AQUA BUS, which has been operated by Regional Tourism Organisation REGION LIPTOV for some years. The SKI & AQUA BUS is the official name for the free shuttle buses that operate in Liptov almost all winter. They take skiiers to the slopes in Jasná from Lúčky, Liptovský Mikuláš and Trnovec, as well as Tatralandia, Bešeňová and Liptovský Ján.

The Liptov region is moving with the times and wants to be online. Now tourists and skiers can find all routes, timetables and even delays using the Liptov mobile app, which is easy to download from Google Play and the App Store. In addition to other important and interesting information about the region in Slovak and English, maps, events and attractions, it provides information about connections. There are six buses equipped with a GPS locator, so skibus passengers and those waiting at the skibus stop will have first-hand online information about when they will reach their destination, or whether the connection is delayed or full. From early morning to late afternoon, people can roam the region and set off for an adventure by the water or on top of the snowy mountain peaks.

The smaller Liptov ski resort Malino Brdo, near Ruzomberok, is also popular. It is one of the best in Slovakia and offers its visitors a wide range of well groomed terrain, which are appreciated by all skiers and snowboarders in good snow conditions. The entrance gate to the resort is Hrabovo from where the cable cars to Malino Brdo operate. The pride of the resort is the longest ski slope that leads from the peak to Hrabov, measuring 3.9 kilometers in length.

After skiing, many people choose to relax in wellness centres. Liptov is a paradise of thermal and mineral springs. Healing waters can be found in the Lúčky spa. You can also warm up your body, for example, in Bešeňová - the thermal heart of Liptov. There are several indoor and outdoor pools with many attractions, water slides and a pool with waves. A popular part of Bešeňová is the sauna world Harmónia, which is also the largest sauna house in Slovakia.

In Liptovský Mikuláš you will find the well-known aquapark Tatralandia with several swimming pools with sea and thermal water, a wave for surfing and some year-round water slides.

There are many more reasons to spend winter in Liptov, and you can find them all on the website visitliptov.sk. So get inspired and pay us a visit, because Liptov has to be experienced!
