In 2025, Slovakia will have 14 holidays, with 12 falling on regular work days. In addition, there will be six long weekends. Also, with two holidays falling on Thursday, there will be a few opportunities to take just one day off to allow for four days without work.

  • January 1: Wednesday, Day of the Establishment of the Slovak Republic

  • January 6: Monday, Epiphany

  • April 18: Good Friday

  • April 21: Easter Monday

  • May 1: Thursday, Labour Day

  • May 8: Thursday, Victory over Fascism Day

  • July 5: Saturday, St. Cyril and Methodius Day

  • August 29: Friday, Slovak National Uprising Anniversary

  • September 15: Monday, Day of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows

  • November 1: Saturday, All Saints' Day

  • November 17: Monday, Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day

  • December 24-26: Wednesday-Friday, Christmas

Although September 1 and October 28 (Constitution Day of the Slovak Republic, Day of the Establishment of an Independent Czecho-Slovakia respectively) are public holidays, both are still work days.

There will be six long weekends next year:

  • January 4-6 (Saturday to Monday)

  • April 18-21 (Friday to Monday)

  • August 29-31 (Friday to Sunday)

  • September 13-15 (Saturday to Monday)

  • November 15-17 (Saturday to Monday)

  • December 24-28 (Wednesday to Sunday)
