WITHIN several years, all books that have been published in Slovak should be transferred into electronic form, and many should be freely available on the internet.
The Slovak national library in Martin has taken over a former army storage premises where it plans to build a major digitalization center and to scan all 350,000 Slovak books in its archives.
The estimated 122 million pages of text should be scanned by special scanners, which the library plans to buy using money from EU funds, the SME daily wrote.
The job would keep four robots busy for the next six years.
