NHL stars to play ball-hockey exhibition in Dubnica

THE RECENTLY opened fitness club FitFabrik in Dubnica nad Vahom in Trenčín Region will host a charity ball-hockey tournament on July 26, with participation of several National Hockey League (NHL) stars.

The gym is a project by Dubnica’s native Tomáš Tatar (currently playing for Detroit Red Wings) and the proceeds from the FitFabrik Open Day will go to support sport programs for children at the primary school in Dubnica, named after another, deceased, ice-hockey star Pavol Demitra.

Visitors and viewers can win personal items of the NHL players in a raffle. Several current and former Slovak national team players will participate, including Tatar, Marián Hossa (Chicago Blackhawks), Marián Gáborík (Los Angeles Kings), Tomáš Kopecký (Florida Panthers) as well as Dominik Graňák, Richard Lintner, Rastislav Pavlikovsky, Richard Pánik and Branko Radivojevič.

The FitFabrik Open Day begins at 11:00 on Sunday, July 26 with a ball-hockey tournament for children, prior to the exhibition ball hockey game including the NHL stars. There will also be various skill competitions in marksmanship, penalty shots and an obstacle course. The NHL stars will sign autographs at the end of the event.
