A vibrant and cosmopolitan spa town, with a population of no more than 30,000 citizens, lying on the Váh River: This is Piešťany in a nutshell.

The city, which has grown into a paradise for bikers due to its long cycling paths, is a water sports mecca. Not only because Slovakia's longest river, the Váh, runs straight through Piešťany, but also because of the Sĺňava water reservoir, which is reachable even on foot.
Decades ago, Piešťany was also discovered by people from the Muslim world. Slovakia's spa resort has gone on to be a favourite summer holiday spot for people from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the like.
