Only the Bodrog River is rising in Trebišov district in Košice region, as the Latorica River is returning to more normal water levels and the Ondava River has stabilised, the TASR newswire was told by the head of Trebišov District Office, Robert Puci, on May 20. He said the weather forecasts are favourable, with no further heavy rain expected.
"Waterflows are steadily stabilising and dropping. As soon as the water level of the Bodrog goes down, it will in turn bring down the Ondava's level. Then we'll be able to run the water off from the Trnávka River and also from the flooded area between Ondava and Trnávka embankments – and finally, from the flooded fields," he stated.
