THE HEAD of Freedom and Solidarity (SaS), Richard Sulík, was reportedly prepared to support a government headed by Ivan Mikloš, the current finance minister from the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) party.
A video recording that appears to confirm his willingness to do so is featured on the same webpage that contains a previous “Sasanka file” with alleged transcripts of SMS text messages exchanged between Sulík and businessman Marián Kočner, the SITA newswire reported.
“I was asked several months ago what I would say to this alternative,” Sulík states on the unverified video recording during a meeting with Kočner, before adding that SaS would support a government led by Mikloš.
The video on the internet has seven pieces and the spokesperson for SaS, Tatiana Tóthová, said that Sulík’s statements could be taken out of context, adding that Sulík has already expressed regret for his meetings with Kočner.
“It was a private conversation in the home of Mr. Kočner and this video was made illegally and without my knowledge,” Sulík said, as quoted by SITA. “The only thing I wanted to do was to find out who the traitors are in the coalition,” he added. “I tried to get this information but it turned out that I would not have been a good spy. Instead, I became part of the fabricated story.”
Kočner’s name has been featured in several controversies over the past two decades.
