In total, 90,426 cars were sold in Slovakia in 2009, 6.68 percent fewer than in the record year of 2008. The sales figures for new passenger cars and small utility vehicles in 2009 was as follows:

2. Renault – 9,668 units: 10.69 percent
3. Peugeot – 7,019 units: 7.76 percent
4. Kia – 6,349 units: 7.02 percent
5. Citroen – 6,221 units: 6. 88 percent
6. Volkswagen – 5,613 units: 6.21 percent
7. Toyota/Lexus – 4,687 units: 5.18 percent
8. Fiat – 4,364 units: 4.83 percent
9. Hyundai – 3,872 units: 4.28 percent
10. Suzuki – 3,679 units: 4.07 percent
11. Ford – 3, 505 units: 3.88 percent
12. Opel – 2,809 units: 3.11 percent
13. Dacia – 2,482 units: 2.74 percent
14. Chevrolet – 2,084 units: 2.3 percent
15. Seat – 2,075 units: 2.29 percent
