The M. R. Štefánik airport in Bratislava is the eighth best airport in Eastern Europe. This stems from the prestigious survey Skytrax – World Airport Awards.

The airport has appeared among the top 10 airports in Eastern Europe for the fourth year in a row, the TASR newswire reported.

“We view eighth place aa a nice result,” said the airport’s head Ivan Trhlík, as quoted by TASR, adding that this happened despite a worse financial situation that has not allowed them to invest into development lately.

The survey was attended by 13.82 million passengers with 105 nationalities. They filled in the questionnaires from July 2016 to February 2017 via the Worldairportsurvey.com, in which 550 airports across the globe were evaluated.

Passengers assessed indicators such as check-in, departures and arrivals, shopping possibilities, security and passport control, TASR wrote.
