Norwegian Air has returned to Bratislava after more than a decade, reviving a long-dormant route that once connected the Slovak capital with Copenhagen. Since 28 June 2025, the low-cost airline has been operating two weekly flights – on Tuesdays and Saturdays – just in time for the peak summer travel season.
The carrier first entered the Slovak market on 28 March 2012 with flights from Bratislava to Oslo, adding regular services to Copenhagen from 3 May that year. It continued operating the Copenhagen route until 2013 and maintained its Oslo flights until October 2014.
“We are very excited that Norwegian is returning to Bratislava Airport after more than 10 years,” said Dušan Novota, CEO and Chairman of the Board at Bratislava Airport. “The carrier is a crucial operator connecting Bratislava with northern Europe, and we’ve worked hard to bring them back.”
The airline says its comeback is part of a wider push to boost summer travel options across the Nordic region.
“Summer holidays are something everyone longs for,” said Magnus Thome Maursund, Norwegian’s Commercial Director. “We are pleased to add a direct route between Copenhagen and Bratislava and reconnect Slovakia with the Nordics, as it has been unserved for several years.”
Tickets for the route can be booked via the airline’s website, www.norwegian.com, and are currently available – due to operational constraints – until 19 August 2025.
