Bratislava will get new routes to London and Tbilisi

The new routes will be launched next year

The list of destinations that can be reached by plane from Bratislava next year has again grown. The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air is set to launch a new flight connection between Bratislava’s M. R. Štefánik Airport and London-Luton as of next June 20. The airline will provide flights on a daily basis. The private airline Georgian Airways will launch a regular line between Bratislava and the Georgian capital of Tbilisi on March 27, 2018. The airline will provide flights two times per week, on Tuesday and Friday.

“Passengers from Bratislava will be able to make use of six Wizz Air flight routes next year - to Skopje [Macedonia], Kiev [Ukraine], Warsaw [Poland], Sofia [Bulgaria], Tuzla [Bosnia and Herzegovina] and also a new London-Luton route,” said Jozef Pojedinec, general director and board of director’s chairman of Bratislava Airport as cited by the TASR newswire.

Wizz Air has recorded significant growth in Slovakia, with a capacity hike of 60 percent year-on-year on the Slovak market. It is currently operating 11 flights to eight countries from three Slovak airports in Bratislava, Poprad and Košice, according to Wizz Air spokesperson Sorina Maria Ratz.

Georgian Airways will be a new air carrier at Bratislava airport.

“Direct flights to the Georgian metropolis Tbilisi and back will be operated by a new type of aircraft, the Embraer 190 JET 94-106 with a capacity of 88 seats in economy class and nine seats in business,” said Veronika Ševčíková, spokesperson for Bratislava airport as cited by the SITA newswire. “The flight will last about three hours.”

From March 2018, Georgian Airways will begin to fly from Tbilisi to Barcelona, Paris, Bologna, Brussels, Berlin and Düsseldorf as well as Bratislava.
