ContourGlobal is to build 15 steam-gas power plants for Coca Cola in 12 countries, while the overall capital investment is estimated at 225 million euros. The company Coca-Cola Hellenic will provide land for construction of the power plants next to Coca Cola’s existing factories.

The company’s long-term commitment to buy energy from the gas-steam cycle operated by ContourClobal during the period under contract will guarantee the repayment of the invested capital. The output of the steam-gas power plant next to the Coca-Cola factory should be from 0.2 to 3 megawatts.

Coca-Cola intends to look after its power consumption in this way. It selected a steam-gas cycle because this generation method will reduce the factory’s carbon dioxide emissions and can generate enough heat and electricity for the company’s consumption. Excess output will be sold to power distribution networks.
