THE BRATISLAVA regional government plans to launch the region’s first Expert Education Centre. The centre should serve to promote expert education and help graduates establish themselves on the labour market. It will focus on selected occupations for production of cars and car components, as well as the sale, repair and maintenance of cars, regional government spokesperson Iveta Tyšlerová told the SITA newswire.
The centre, to be created in cooperation with the Slovak arm of German carmaker Volkswagen, will serve students of the Stredná Odborná Škola Automobilová J. Jonáša in Devínska Nová Ves, a technical high school which already focuses on the automotive industry. It will also provide requalification of jobseekers, lifelong education and education of teachers active in this field.
“The main aim of this project is to link theory with practice,” said Pavol Frešo, the head of the regional government. “The greatest wealth of Bratislava Region is its human potential and it is our duty to develop it.”
The centre will be a pilot project; the regional government is working along with the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the active help of the Car Industry Association.
