The Foodora delivery service, which has been operating in Slovakia since 2021, ceased its activities in Slovakia as of April 4.
The platform announced the departure on its website this Thursday.
Foodora, which is part of Delivery Hero, one of the world's leading local delivery platforms, cited the change in the company's investment priorities as the reason behind the decision.
"Ending our activities in Slovakia was a tough decision," said Delivery Hero Europe CEO, Pedram Assadi.
He explained that this decision will allow the company to redirect its investments to other countries with greater opportunities.
"We want to thank our customers, partners, couriers and employees for their support and dedication," Assadi added, noting that the company will provide them with support during this transition period, including severance pay exceeding the legislative minimum.
Foodora is a delivery service operating in seven European countries - Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
