Gestamp to create almost 400 new jobs in Nitra

The decision to build and operate a pressing plant for producing car components is related to the planned arrival of British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover in Nitra.

According to the project, which has been submitted by the company for an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), the cost of the investment is projected at €100 million. Construction work on the plant should begin by the end of this year while the launch of production is scheduled for mid-2018. The plant should be constructed in two stages, with 396 new jobs subsequently created.

The new plant will be located on the territory of the village of Lužianky in the Nitra Region on an area covering 57,000 square metres. Its pressing capacity should reach 50,000 tonnes annually.

The arrival of British carmaker Jaguar Land Rover in Nitra has attracted another big investment to the region, the Hospodárske Noviny daily wrote. According to documents, which Gestamp Nitra submitted for the Environmental Impact Assessment they plan to build and operate a pressing facility that will make steel and aluminium semi-finished products.
