In Slovakia, banks must have a license to provide mortgages. The banks most active in this segment are: VÚB, Tatra Banka, Slovenská Sporiteľňa, ČSOB, OTP Banka Slovensko, Volksbank Slovensko, Dexia Banka, and UniCredit Bank.
Hypocentrum – Hypocentrum was established in December 2003 as the first mortgage broker in Slovakia. The company provides mortgage mediation services for financing of either residential or investment real estate purchases.
