Bratislava’s culinary scene is set for a new chapter as Medusa, Slovakia’s largest gastronomic group, unveils its most ambitious project to date. On March 1, the group will open DOCK7, a €3 million restaurant housed in the historic Warehouse No. 7 near the Eurovea shopping centre.

The 1920s industrial landmark, declared a national cultural monument in 1986, was once the architectural centrepiece of Bratislava’s port. Now, it is poised to become a destination for foodies and history enthusiasts alike.

DOCK7 will occupy the entire ground floor of the warehouse, boasting a sprawling space of 1,600 square metres beneath the square that hosts a statue of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik.  Inside, diners can enjoy a bar seamlessly connected to the brewery, where brewing equipment is on full display. The brewery will boast a capacity of 6,000 hectolitres, positioning it among the largest craft breweries in Slovakia. It will outsize the General brewery, claiming the title of the largest in Bratislava. The average Slovak microbrewery produces around 1,000 hectolitres. The restaurant will accommodate 280 guests indoors, with an additional 190 seats available outdoors, providing picturesque views of the Danube.

The new venture continues Medusa’s trend of transforming industrial gems into gastronomic hubs. Following its Werk restaurant in Jurkovičova Tepláreň and the Mint bistro in Pradiareň 1900, DOCK7 promises an elevated experience, pairing traditional cuisine with modern techniques. The menu will feature dishes for meat lovers and vegetarians alike, accompanied by a robust beer offering ranging from classic lagers to more adventurous styles like IPA and Blonde, all brewed on-site.

Warehouse No. 7 was originally earmarked for a brewery by Heineken, but the project eventually passed into the hands of Medusa, which is now recruiting staff for its upcoming restaurant.

Founded by entrepreneur Peter Štecko, Medusa has been a leader in Slovak gastronomy for over two decades. The group operates 40 venues across Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, and even the United Arab Emirates. Its portfolio includes popular brands such as Klubovňa, Presto, Primi, Werk, Rio, Mint, La Pala, Como Cafe, Kubu, Nox, Barrock, Trafo, Epic, Lúnico, and franchise outlets of Wagamama, notes Denník N.
