The Haščák family overtook the richest Slovak to date, Ivan Chrenko, in the ranking of the wealthiest people published by the American Forbes magazine in early April. The Haščák family placed 1,764 in the ranking and Chrenko ended 1945th. Chrenko was the first Slovak ever to be among the richest people in the world. This happened in 2017.
“The distance from the ranking’s number one has thinned again,” wrote the Slovak Forbes about the Haščák family in the ranking of the richest Slovaks in October 2023. According to this evaluation, they were still the Slovak number two, after the owner of HB Reavis Ivan Chrenko. In the latest American Forbes ranking of global billionaires, the order is already reversed.

The fortune of the family of Jaroslav Haščák, co-founder of Penta Investments, is estimated at USD1.8 billion. Jaroslav Haščák and his family control more than 40 percent of the financial group.
Penta is broadly diversified across a number of sectors, from healthcare, betting, finance to real estate, and has been extremely successful in most of them. According to the latest available figures (for 2022), the group had a net profit of €483 million. Although it has not beaten the record from 2021 (€570m), it still shows that Penta is a well-oiled machine.
Fortune of Ivan Chrenko, the owner of the property management company HB Reavis, remained unchanged year-on-year in the ranking of the American Forbes and remained at USD1.6 billion.
His business is not experiencing the best of times, as the offices, which are his primary focus are suffering from less interest from companies. Those in the pandemic have discovered that they can operate in smaller spaces. This therefore puts pressure on developers and managers, which is what HB Reavis is.
