According to documents obtained by the Sme daily, police investigators have accused four members of the supervisory board of the state-run Vodohospodárska Výstavba company, identifying them as Roman H., Miroslav S., Elena B. and Janka B.. They are suspected of violating their duties while managing someone else’s property as accomplices.
The case pertains to the lease of the Gabčíkovo hydro-power plant, which the Vodohospodárska Výstavba rented to SE for 30 years back in 2006, when 66 percent of the firm was acquired by Italian company Enel.
The annual reports of Vodohospodárska Výstavba suggest that people with such initials served in the supervisory board in 2002-06 during the rule of the first Mikuláš Dzurinda government. They were identified as Miroslav Sklenařík, Elena Bobulová, Roman Hubač and Janka Navrátilová. The police however refused to confirm if these people have been accused, Sme wrote.
Besides them, police also charged an additional person, identified as Ladislav G., last December. This may be of concern to the former head of Vodohospodárska Výstavba Ladislav Gáll who led the company during the second Mikuláš Dzurinda government when the SE was privatised, according to the daily.
