Drone-making plant near Prešov plans to grow from 26 employees to 200

Ukrainian-owned company has clients on several continents.

A new line for production of drones for civilian applications has opened in the industrial park in the village of Haniska, near Prešov, eastern Slovakia. The line belongs to the company Tropozond, which is owned by the Skyeton Group, a Ukrainian manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems based in Estonia.

At present, the company has invested €3 million and employs 26 people. By the end of next year, it expects to have as many as 200 employees. It is currently looking for qualified people to recruit.

According to Skyeton CEO Alexander Stepura, the company had been looking for a country with a developed industry and enough qualified employees.

"As a Slavic country, Slovakia has a similar culture to Ukraine, where we already have one factory. We know we can find capable and qualified people here much faster than in any other country," said Stepura.

Skyeton has customers on several continents. The first Raybird drones from Prešov Region are to be sent to the United Arab Emirates, where they will be used to monitor oil pipelines.
